Prevention Is Better Than Cure!
I want to share a secret with you. It’s not the best-kept secret in the world, yet the majority of us continue not to recognise it, and some of us choose to turn our heads so as to remain in our safe, ordered, and predictable worlds. But do you know we all have the ability to heal every part of ourselves? It is something I wish someone had explicitly spelt out to me years ago. Instead, I had to learn the hard way. I would like to help you discover this, to empower you to move beyond any fears or doubts that might be keeping you frozen in your current state. I want to enable you to realise your potential, your dreams, and your aspirations. Through this book, I hope to heal your very soul, to send you on a journey of discovery, love, and fulfilment. Whatever limiting beliefs are holding you hostage, I want to support you as you break those chains—to help you speak into existence the bliss that is your birthright. By writing this book, I endeavour to spread this knowledge so I can share explicitly with the world how all our lives should be. I want to help you live a life that excites and enthrals you. Are you open to making an unequivocal commitment to the journey of self-reflection, new possibilities, and even success?
We can prevent many hardships and illnesses by making simple changes to our lives. Yes, they require a bit of effort, but isn’t a good, prosperous life worth a little work? Taking that first step can sometimes seem like the hardest part, but once you do, you won’t look back or regret the choices you make, as a good life will eventually flow effortlessly like a rushing river of joy. If we were able to prevent disease and other devastations, we would no longer suffer the way we do as a human race. Can you imagine what a better place the world would be if we could take away a lot of this unnecessary pain and agony? With so much sadness and fear in the world, I ask you sincerely if you would like to help me heal it. By healing yourself, you will help heal the rest of the world.
Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.
—Leo Tolstoy
We just have to look at society today to see that we have put so much emphasis on materialistic items: our careers, what cars we drive, the latest phone, how full our lips are. Do these things really define us? Of course, it is lovely to have some or all of these items, but have we lost sight of what is important and what really matters? I’m not saying we can’t have all these things if we want them, but what are your priorities? Can you enjoy your fast car if you are unable to leave the house due a chronic ailment?
Materialistic objects will never make us truly happy and should not be markers or measures of our own success or who we are as people. These things won’t be there to keep us warm at night or comfort us in times of need. We all know that happiness from these items is fleeting. We are nothing without our health and our mental well-being. So where have we gone wrong, and why are we not addressing this urgently? In a society where we are becoming apparently ‘richer’ in the way we live our lives, we fundamentally become poorer and sicker in our bodies. You only have to look at statistics for the rates of cancers, diabetes, and heart disease, not to mention the increasing epidemic of mental health illnesses and suicides, to see this. Stress is an everyday occurrence, an epidemic of devastating proportions, and these statistics are rising rapidly. With all we know about science and breakthrough medical treatments, we might reasonably ask ourselves how and why this is the case. Unfortunately, we have become too reliant on modern pharmaceutical medicine and focus less on what our bodies need in order to be fit and healthy. We have become reactive rather than proactive. Shouldn’t the focus be on prevention rather than cure? We all have the power within us to be our own doctors—to heal our minds, bodies, and souls, and the rest of humankind.
I want to spread the word, to open up your mind to the possibility that we can have it all! I want you to expect greatness instead of misery. We can have anything we have ever dreamt of as long as we take responsibility, believe in the power, and use the energy within us. We have the ability to do whatever we desire, but that energy has to start from inside of us, using our own strength. This is an inside job; it requires us to analyse and reflect. We need to lose that victim mentality much of the world has adopted—it is poisoning us and society. It is time to realise that we can’t keep blaming others or beating ourselves up for our misfortunes; we need to be kinder and show more compassion. If we become proactive in our lives, we will see a distinct impact on our happiness and contentment. This will result in an abundant life, which will most definitely reflect on the rest of the world. The health of your mind, body, and soul will ultimately feed into your future and your destiny—your thoughts today create your tomorrow. Do you want to have it all: be healthy, happy, and whole? As soon as we start taking responsibility for our own overall well-being and stop relying on someone else to fix us, we absolutely can. The Universe that we live in is limitless and resides within us all, and it’s ready to start providing for you as soon as you take that leap of faith by beginning to understand what your priorities and dreams could be.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.
