After all those days of crying I became a different person. The way I looked at life was transformed. Everything changed from that moment on. It is not that I have had a free, glamorous life since that day. I still experience a lot of pain and suffering. However, I suddenly understood that these are all learning opportunities. I have embraced everything coming into my life! My temper has also changed completely.
When you try to understand the meaning beneath your suffering, your life becomes different! It’s a beautiful thing to learn about our life! It’s a beautiful thing to understand our life! Don’t be scared to face yourself!
This understanding has to come from our own willingness to learn and know ourselves. We can’t force ourselves to do things like this. I didn’t talk to anyone in those six days. No one taught me anything. It’s very simple and easy to discover yourself when you are willing to face yourself!
The Power of Being Present
When I was young, I felt that my life was meaningless! Whatever I did, I felt lonely even when I spent my time with many people.
In my twenty years of life, I was not happy. I wanted a lot of stuff, however, when I finally got it, I was not really happy either. My boyfriend once bought me a diamond. When I put it on, I was still not happy. I was not happy and I didn’t know how to be happy until I\ndiscovered The Letting Go Method. After this, I had a totally different feeling about\nlife. Life has become fresh, beautiful, and different! It’s almost like I have a totally different heart than before! I am finally alive! No guru, no spiritual practice, no meditation. All you need is simply to face yourself, no matter if it is ugly or embarrassing! Just be present with yourself!
You need to be present with yourself to see your truth, the absolute reality of yourself. When we are able to see our absolute reality - the power, strength, and wisdom will emerge.
Releasing Your Inner Suffering Patterns
In 1999, I went to help people impacted by the big earthquake in central Taiwan. I felt heartbroken when I saw their collapsed houses. Every broken house represented a broken family. When my eyes locked with a survivor’s eyes, the air froze. I could never forget those eyes. Those eyes revealed the pain of losing their loved ones. They showed grief and horror. I didn’t know what to say to comfort them. I also knew that whatever I said couldn’t pacify their soul. I felt for them.
Although I’ve practiced Buddhism, I felt powerless in this situation. There was so much suffering out there. How could I help? I didn’t know.
Learn Your Suffering Patterns and Stop Repeating Your Suffering
Many years ago, I started teaching meditation. I tried my best to help my students. No matter how hard I tried, no one understood what I said. I stopped the class after one year. Nevertheless, I still tried to communicate my knowledge to help my students whenever I had the chance. Although they all longed for happiness and freedom, and even though they really paid attention to what I said, even after 7 years they still couldn’t understand me.
As a matter of fact, there is no method for meditation. Most people cannot understand meditation. They don’t know how to do it. Many spiritual folks also don’t know how to do it. I knew my students were working hard to practice what I said. However, they were still suffering. I felt heavy for this.
It is most difficult to understand your suffering patterns. Many people are suffering in their relationships. Take the relationship with your parents for example. You may have a good relationship with your parents for a while, and then it’s not going so well for another time. Most people are suffering in these cycles. They cannot see their suffering patterns. Yet, once they spot their suffering patterns, these programs will stop eventually.
Images of all these people’s suffering kept surfacing back to me when I was sitting quietly. However, I also knew that there was no effective meditation method that could free these people from their suffering. Because all these methods are designed by the mind, and the mind cannot free us from our mind.
Activating Your Inner Healing Power
One day, an inspiration came to me: Let's just release our own suffering patterns and follow them. Actually, to my own surprise, this\nmethod has proven very effective in releasing suffering. The Letting Go Method can activate your inner healing power and heal the suffering of your soul.
In the beginning, I just used it to release\nmy own physical discomforts. I discovered that if I said the right releasing sentences, the discomfort started dissolving unless they were long-term injuries. I then tried to release the emotional suffering patterns and to my own surprise, it works like magic! All you need to do is just to say the right releasing sentences.
“Be with your body, be with your emotions, be with your self!”
Why are we still acting just like before even after we have read so many books and followed so many gurus? After we are hurt, these injuries make up our world. We repeat these dramas in our life. We don’t know how to get in touch with our soul’s longings. The Letting Go Method shows you how to face these injuries, helps you learn how to end your suffering patterns, restore your health and remove all obstacles preventing you from enjoying your true nature and love.
Letting Go—Release Your Suffering is introduced to the West by Suzhen Liu’s mentee Suzanne Yang who has worked at her side for many years.
