Fashion is my Passion

I can remember always being interested in Fashion from the beautiful dresses I wore and even dressed my dolls in. Also my parents, sister and brother always looked like fashion plates. In adult life, I worked for Gucci and kept the interest going. I then attended a Fashion College in Lucerne, Switzerland where I received the best Education in Fashion Merchandising and this is where I knew I had to write a book on Fashion with all the knowledge I gained. My favorite course at the Fashion College was Fashion History and this is what I base my book on. Styles of Fashion can be derived from many aspects of society. Some being Government, Architecture, Motion Pictures, Famous People and World Events. In Government, just law making officials can make a designer produce clothing after an election of officials. As in the election of a President, fashion can derive many styles of dress according to the dress of the President and his family. Architecture can also inspire dress designers. For example, the great columns on buildings in ancient Greece and Rome promoted dress and style. And today our skyscrapers in cities like New York promote style. Every time a new motion picture comes out fashion is exemplified by the stories of the film. For example, Cleopatra inspired Egyptian and Roman style clothing to be worn. And as the saying goes “History repeats itself.” Famous people can have an effect on what people wear especially actors and actresses. Famous movie stars such as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman can start trends of fashion immediately. Also singers and bands can bring about a change in dress such as Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. World Events cause a big effect on Fashion. For instance, the Wars in Iraq and Syria cause the Military Dress to be prevalent in the fashion. I am just naming a few aspects of society that influence Fashion but there are many more as society marches on.
