About the Book

This children’s book is about the history of the Cape Muslims who arrived in Cape Town (South Africa) in the 1600s. At the time, the Dutch were colonizing Indonesia. A resistance group was captured and banished to the Cape of Good Hope as slaves to the Dutch. This included Shaykh Yusuf of Macassar.
