About the Author
Joan Marie Gagnon is a certified public accountant and a certified financial planner with thirty years of experience in the financial arena. Twenty-six years ago she began her spiritual journey.
Her early experiences were mostly reading books and attending workshops, but then she began having spiritual experiences that changed her life.
For many years her attention was on herself and her family. Then, in 2010 she opened herself to the world. She became an Associate of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, an international missionary congregation of religious women. They work in fourteen countries in Africa, Europe, and the Americas. For twenty years she has also been very involved with Rotary International whose mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
Every year she would learn more about what is truly going on in the world. She realized that rarely do we hear news stories about the atrocities in Sudan or Nigeria. She spent time working with the indigenous women in Guatemala to help them start businesses. She has traveled to Mexico to work in an eye clinic to help the indigenous people that have cataracts. She has even worked in Appalachia at a medical clinic for the marginalized in the USA. Again and again; she sees first hand how many people around the world are marginalized and forced to live in difficult situations because of powerful government influences or laws.
The title of this book was always at the top of her list as the theme for her next book in the series Journal Your Way To. Everyone encouraged her to do another financial book, but it was loud and clear that Journal Your Way to a Peaceful World was the next book.
Joan feels strongly that as we become more peaceful within ourselves, this peace will radiate out to the world. Join Joan in the continual quest to find peace in ourselves and the world.
