Nora Eberhardt was born in Astoria, NY in 1928. She was a professional teacher who worked in the NYS public school system for 35 years.
Nora attended The Mary Louis Academy High School in Jamaica Estates, NY and then on to Marymount Manhattan College where she pursued and received a BA degree in Psychology. Next she completed an MS in Educational Administration at the State University of Albany at New Paltz, NY.
After graduating in February 1951, Nora began her first teaching position in the primary grades in Lindenhurst, Long Island. After moving to upstate New York, she continued working in the primary grades in Clifton Park, Niskayuna and Ballston Spa until she became interested in the administration level. Nora served as district wide Primary Supervisor and an Elementary School Assistant Principal, then Principal, until her retirement.
Nora’s fellow teachers have said, “She knows how to climb into the head of a child.”
