A beautifully illustrated children's story; Ankara is an extraordinary girl, born into a family who simply do not understand her. Ankara is always happiest in nature and has amazing experiences including fascinating conversations with the Rose flower faerie, a night time visit from an elf and a magical encounter with a dolphin, who speaks telepathically to her. Her innocent wonder and deep connection and love for all living things sets her apart from her peers and results in some teasing and bullying at school. However, one day a boy in her class sees the golden light around her, as she tends to the flowers and a friendship develops between them that continues throughout the series. Eventually, the nature spirits show her a creative way to win the respect of the school bullies, enabling them to see the world a little differently. One starry night she was woken with a start... An elf with pointy ears and slanting green eyes was sitting on her bed!! "Shh! Shh!" it whispered, "don't be frightened, you are perfectly safe. "Yes" said the elf "there will be seals performing in the pool, Olin the dolphin is wild and free, out in the sea, she will call to you Ankara, Ankara." "Will she really be able to talk to me?" whispered Ankara in amazement. "Oh yes, not in the way you expect though, sweet dreams little one" and the elf disappeared in a flash!
