I decided to write this book because I wanted to show my love for dogs and to hopefully inspire others who have the same passion, while also sharing my life experiences thus far.
I was inspired by my mom because of the book she wrote. At first, I never thought it was possible for me to write a book but I wanted to tell my story to encourage others that even through bad times you can always find something to make you happy. My mom also says sometimes life is not easy but by always finding a positive in everything and following your dreams and focusing on good, you can accomplish and get through even the roughest of times. My Nana always reminds all of us to never give up. So from learning from them, I thought that I should take a chance and not be afraid to write a book, even at my age. I also think, along with having a loving family who encourages me, it helps me through anything, especially when I have a lovable pet by my side!
I wanted to give back to my community, as well as, share my story so I chose the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County to donate a portion of the proceeds and to bring awareness about their mission through my book.
I chose the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County because they help animals including the homeless kittens my brother and I found and brought to them. With support from others they are able to help prevent and stop animal abuse as well as help injured animals in Memphis and Shelby County. By doing my little part, with the help of my book, I am able to give back to their cause so they can continue their mission to provide animals with a safe place to recover and be given nutritious food and vet care. They care for and foster animals until they are ready to be adopted and given a loving family.

About the Book
Jordan Marie’s book, My Life With Dogs, is a personal story of one girl’s journey with dogs while facing life’s trials and triumphs.

About the Author
Jordan Marie was born on October 8, 2003. Jordan, her brother, and parents live in Memphis, Tennessee. She has a pet Yorkie named Bella “Boo Bear”. She loves animals; she plays volleyball, soccer, and softball. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She also creatively expresses herself through painting and drawing. Her goal through this book is to help the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County to provide the supplies that are needed to take care of animals in need.
