About the Book

This book has been written from a place of passion and compassion for helping those grieving. The immense pain of loss can be so debilitating and where to turn for help can be such a challenge. The aim of this book is to offer you a guiding hand through your own individual grieving experience. Step by step you will be offered some new perspectives on your feelings and thoughts and how your loss may be affecting you on physical, psychological, spiritual, and behavioural levels. Each chapter offers some practical tools and techniques to help you navigate your way through your grief, helping you from the rawness of loss to a place of peaceful integration – and beyond if you wish. This book offers a new and modern perspective of how to help yourself holistically.

About the Author

Janice Thompson has combined her academic qualifications which include a master’s degree in Psychology research with her practical experience of working as a therapist and trainer. For the past fifteen years she has dedicated herself to helping those who are grieving. She has developed and facilitates grief training for practitioners, regularly runs workshops on loss and grief, holds grief retreats and leads an online grief café where those grieving can come together and share experiences. Janice speaks on various aspects of grief at conferences and has participated in a wide variety of podcasts. Janice’s passion for working with those grieving began after finding some techniques and tools to help herself through the sudden loss of her husband at a young age. The realisation that her struggle to find peace was related to an earlier death in the family led her on a journey to understand grief and subsequently help others. Janice enjoys a simple life in Shropshire, England, where she lives on her narrowboat with her partner and her dog, Dudley.
