Most of my time spent at my grandparent's house, was spent outside under a weeping willow tree that was so lush and deep green, that it was a great place to lose myself in fantasy and imagination. I rarely visited the tree in winter when the branches were bare and it was too cold to play outside for long periods of time. I do remember standing beneath it wishing for spring to arrive so my private hiding spot would return. Later in my life I found an entrance to a friends mother's house that gave me the same feeling as that old weeping willow did. The drive to her house was lined with, what I call, tunnel trees. Tunnel Trees Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall, There is a place That I recall As a child On Grandpa's farm A place to hide Away from harm This place I called The Tunnel Trees For that is how They seemed to me The pathway Underneath them long The branches stretching Oh so strong It's here that I Would go to play On every sort Of different day In Summer, shade Beneath the leaves I'd scarcely see The branches weave In Winter, snow Would cover thick The branches seemed Like stark, dead sticks In Spring, new life Began to show With happiness My soul would grow In Fall, bright colors Drift on the air Until the branches Were quite bare And so I'd play, I'd gaze, I'd think Beneath kind natures Timely link

About the Book
Grandma took a trip back to her childhood home in 1954. She took copious notes and photos on her travels, so she could revisit her adventure time and time again. Years later, I found the journal and felt as if I were traveling alongside her.
About the Author
Bonnie DiMichele is a native Californian who spent many of her developmental years in Santa Cruz, California. She now resides in Northern California, near the Napa Valley, and is a part-time resident of Graeagle, California. She is one of three daughters and has three adult children of her own. Bonnie studied social science and has been a music instructor for twenty-five years. She developed a love of writing poetry, short stories, and music from a very early age. Her passions include poetry, piano playing, gardening, cooking, photography, and travel. She has always had a love of the great outdoors and the world around her. She hopes to bring you a sense of lust and understanding for who you are and where you’ve come from. This book explores a trip taken by her grandmother, who was looking to stimulate and capture her own childhood memories. Bonnie believes that we can learn much about ourselves, and others, by tapping into, and sharing, those childhood memories from our past. She views the world as bright and colorful and wishes everyone could do the same.
