Dear Parents of our most precious resource, our children: You have accepted an awesome responsibility. You are the first influence upon the glorious purpose of awakening and connecting your children to the divine gift within. This divine gift is the spirit of life residing within each one; the light of the universe, the potential powerhouse of being; a blueprint, if you will. The acknowledgement of this gift is presented here as,“Take Hold of Heaven; Thirteen Spiritual Truths for Parents and Children”. This book will address the ultimate in self-esteem, with an expanded viewpoint and a deeper connection, to honor the very essence of being. Each child is a spark of living light containing this unique gift that unifies the specialness of all children. None are left behind in spite of differences, such as handicaps, poor family income or the color of their skin. There is no need for comparison or competition, as each child is worthy and qualified, thus enhancing their self-image. This gift of being is the unifying principle of all life and is the physical and the divine presence dwelling within each one. In order to understand and utilize the premise this book brings forth, we must return to the basic unqualified energy of life, the startling, magnificent, cohesive power of the universe and life, period. This presence or connection is not about religion, for by its very nature, it encompasses all. There are many ways to refer to this force; such as I AM, God, Allah, Jehovah, Brahman, and Great Spirit. We are one creation born from the same source and are alike down to our DNA, free from differences of religious tenets, race or color. So for our purpose here, we will use the words God, Creator or Source, interchangeably. This power we speak of is creative potential, the power that moves the universe, and is beyond that which we know as religion. It is the very source of life existing in every speck of creation, the crackling energy of life itself. It is beyond the beyond; but make no mistake, it is. We are, all of us, an integral part of God, Creator or Source, equally important, valued and wise. Thus to create our reality in concert with this life force brings forth the highest form of self-esteem for all beings.

About the Author
Alice Theriault is a retired elementary teacher with thirty years experience. She is a reverend in the Universal Church of the Master, a poet, and a member of the National League of American Pen Women. She is a mother of five, grandmother of ten, great-grandmother of three, a lover of planet Earth and all creation. She resides in San Jose, California, with a bevy of family and three cats.
