My Soul is Like the Painted Tambourine

Deborah Fine and Katherine Fredlake met in 1972 as freshmen at Northern Illinois University. Their Spirits immediately connected with the familiarity of a timeless friendship.

They were both creative energies. Deborah was singing and playing guitar in coffeehouses during their college day but she had not yet begun painting Katherine had always written poetry and knew that one day she would publish a book of her work.

Throughout the passing years they remained good friends, even though they moved far apart from each other.

While Katherine waited for the perfect artist to illustrate her book, Deborah began painting and producing beautiful designs on tambourines. Through their weekly messages online, they experienced each other’s talents.

Katherine wrote a poem for Deborah about the beautiful tambourines that she painted, and from that moment, she knew that her book was always meant to be illustrated by Deborah. They began a joyous collaboration on a book centered around the poem that Katherine had written for Deborah and her tambourines.

“My Soul is Like the Painted Tambourine” has been a project they have gratefully and enthusiastically embraced with all of their Love. They offer it to the world now as an affirmation that we all are on a sacred journey to fulfilling our Soul’s calling. The collaboration of writing and painting on this project has given both women a greater sense of trust in the Universal Light of their Sister Souls.

Subtle essences

Of music and

Glorious colors;

Passive possibilities

Awaiting the

Inspirational

Tempo

Of The Song.

And like

The Painted

Tambourine,

My Soul

Soars with

The rhythm

Of the Universe

And the

Melodies

Of the

Dancing,

Mystical

Light.

That Resonates

Ocean

Waters,

The Infinite

Space Beyond,

And within

Our own

Harmonic

Hearts and Souls.

Every element,

Diverse

Belongs the same.

Our Love.
