.......Once I grab the two machetes that Acanthus gave to me, I can feel a surge of energy..........but it’s not from the Red Bull; I know this rush of energy all too well.
“Moments from a kill.” I say.
I get out of my car with the machetes hooked to my belt and walk up the driveway.
“If anyone else is home,” I say. “They’ll die, too.”
From where I am, I can see a doorbell, but this matter is much more
personal. Once I reach the door, I bang on it five times; loud enough for anyone in that house to hear it, even if they would be playing loud music.
The door swings open, and there stands a man with brown hair and blue eyes; his left eye is bruised, as if he’s been punched.
This is Ben Keys, I think.
Not thinking about my next action, I rush forward and push the off -duty officer backwards; he falls onto a glass coffee table he has in his living room and shatters it, cutting himself badly.
“What is this?!” he shouts.
“Ten million dollars?!” I ask angrily. “You try to bribe me? For ten million dollars?!”
Keys looks up at me and gasps.
“Leviathan Golgohoth.” he says.
“Leviathan Golgohoth!!!” I shout at him.
I grip the handles of both machetes and yank them off my belt.
“Please, don’t kill me! I won’t say anything! Honest!”
