When we got to the shopping plaza, Daddy told us to, “Wait in the car and play with your toys.” He and Mother walked into the store together. I remember playing with my new yo-yo and a black vinyl purse with its long brass chain while we waited for them to come back out. Daddy came back out to the car shortly after, and grabbed our mother’s purse. I saw him take some papers out of it. I would learn later that it was our birth certificates. When he finally came back out of the store, he was alone. We wondered where our mother was and when he got back in the car, we asked him, “Where’s Mommy?” He told us, “She’ll be fine. It’s time for you girls to be with me now.” We started crying with fear and panic in our voices. Suddenly, we arrived at the motel where Delilah and their baby were waiting. Daddy told us that he would be right back. He got out of the car and ran into the motel room. We waited in the car, feeling confused. Soon, Daddy came out with Delilah and their baby, got in the car and we drove off. So far, it was a successful kidnapping. Whisking us away to a new town was his plan all along. He saw the sudden deep concern on all our faces and explained that Mother was going to let us stay with him for a while during the summer. Scarlet noticed how they kept listening intently to the radio news reports. The welfare people even told him which road to take to get out of town. Daddy soon realized that Scarlet knew what was really happening

About the Book
Journey with me into the life of a little girl named, Jasmine. She is one of four sisters, but my story journeys into her life from her perspective. Raised partly in the desert of Nevada, the hills of Kentucky and the mountains of Idaho. All four sisters suffer during a time when their parents divorce, their mother neglects them and their father kidnaps them. Now raised in an environment full of abuse by their stepmother, they learn to keep secrets. From Jasmine’s point of view, she starts suffering from depression and chronic anxiety. A great amount of fear controls her life, now that her father is gone. Feeling trapped and helpless to find her real mother, she wonders if her prayers are heard. As she grows up, she begins soul searching to heal from emotional damage. Trust issues prevent her from setting healthy boundaries. A long search begins to find her real mother and find answers. Through Jasmine’s eyes, we experience her sadness inflicted on her tender heart-a heart that feels unloved during a time when she is betrayed by her husband. Jasmine learns that love and forgiveness are the keys to healing and that her voice matters during a time when shattered and broken.
About the Author
Rose Sweetflower was born in a small town in Nevada in 1959 when life was simple living among a town full of miners. Her mother and sisters then moved to the hills of Kentucky, when she lived as a hillbilly learning their ways. However, Rose grew up in the mountains of Idaho among miners and their families. After she graduated from High School, she moved to Utah and pursued her career as a beautician. She married and raised a family, partly as a single parent. Her hobbies include, hiking, rock hounding,discovering genealogy leading back to the Mayflower and The Oregon Trail pioneers. Her favorite passion is creating art through inspiration. She now travels with her wonderful husband and their two precious pups, Kodi and Angel. They plan on retiring soon and build their home near Springerville, Arizona, where her husband grew up.
