Not My Land
I came here drifting, from out-of-space,
Land. Where am I? What the hell is this place?
I don’t recognise any of these lonely faces,
These broken hearts and these abstract spaces.
I have tried for many years, walking vast scapes of dry desert land,
Only in the end to find tears.
In my heart - only sand.
I must now understand, that this scape in not my land.
So walk I must till I find the portal of peace,
Everyday surviving these insane streets,
Shutting my ears to the sound of screaming hearts,
Just like the war in the Middle East - darts…
shoot from each other’s minds,
Vicious insecure war crimes,
I can’t stop till I find....
Peace.
Blessed Be the Day
No hellos, put-down comments, ego battles engaged.
The war of the mind is so rampant,
The heart trying desperately to have its say.
It sits back just waiting to be expressed in its whole,
Waiting to be free, to be open and to fly with the soul.
But how can it fly when there is a war going on?
Dodging hurtful bullets and poison words,
Wounded, trying desperately to pull itself along.
The passion, inspiration, and light slowly fades,
Some hearts don’t survive; they turn to stone in their graves.
Hearts wanting to be connected, to be loved and engaged,
Hearts wanting to be expressed, to be open and to be saved.
Hearts needing to be healed, admired and free,
These hearts trying to survive amongst the war in you and me.
There is a battle with love, with family, with friends,
A battle against strangers, against life, against ourselves
… it never ends.
Blessed be the day when our hearts can fly free,
Where they can express themselves so open and truthfully.
Without poison arrows and bitter minds,
Without jealous ammunition and insecure war crimes.
Blessed be the day when we stop playing games,
Games with power and those power games.
The games of judgement, selfishness, pride and greed,
The games we think that....‘If we win, then we will succeed.’
Blessed be the day when our hearts can fly free
And blessed be the day when I can truly be me.

About the Book
Heart Deep is a collection of poetry inspired by the adventures of a young Light-Worker. Sarah Connor takes you through her journey as an Indigo Child; a journey of love, heartbreak, friendships, family and insight using her written poetic words. Sarah never felt that she fit in with this world and struggled to find her place amongst the ‘broken hearts’ and ‘lonely faces’. Over the many years of trying to understand her role, who she was, and why she was here, Sarah wrote poetry. Heart Deep is a ten year collection of her work and takes you right back to the very beginning of where her journey began.
Sarah’s poetry comes straight through her heart, and with her unique view of the world as her filter, she allows her spirit to guide the formation of her words and give rise to her poetry.
About the Author
Writing her first poem at the age of eighteen, Sarah Connor has not stopped. Being a naturally gifted poet surprised Sarah. Throughout her schooling years, Sarah was an easily distracted student, synonymous these days to ADHD, and coupled with mild dyslexia, Sarah never believed she would master any skill associated with reading or writing.
Until one night, she was at a club enjoying the music and became incredibly inspired by a DJ. Sarah went home that night and out poured her first poem. Surprising herself with her natural gift, Sarah over came her lack of confidence in the literary arena and allowed herself to embrace these inspired words. Ten years on, Sarah has published her first book ‘Heart Deep - The Journey of a Light-Working Emcee’.
As Sarah’s love for music and rhyming has grown, so has her craft with words.
