More than Religion Being a witch is about more than religion, or rituals and spells. It’s about discovering who you are and accepting that person. It’s about accepting the magick that is you, wholly and completely. It’s about taking responsibility for yourself and your actions. It is about all of this and so much more. It is a journey of discovery and acceptance that begins at birth, although some of us don’t realize this until later in life. Everyone is struggling to find something, and we often misname it as, love, fame, money or some other goal. We are taught from an early age, that life is about attaining goals. And it is to a degree, but perhaps not to the degree that we think. In my opinion the goal that we are really seeking is about Self discovery and acceptance. Now that doesn’t mean it is unnecessary or wrong to want love, or nice things in our lives, or recognition, we all want these things. But sometimes we lose sight of the really important things, because we get greedy. We sometimes seem to think it is all about having more. It seems like the more we have, the more we want, and the less we appreciate. Most importantly you need to take time to appreciate what you have, and what or who you are. Being a witch is not about being rich, powerful, or physically attractive. Can it bring these things in to your life? It can, but it isn’t the goal, it is more often the side affect. The richness you will receive isn’t always money; it’s more apt to be wisdom, friendships, contentment and satisfaction with your life. Power is not over others, but of yourself, the power to control your thoughts and actions or reactions. It is the power of knowing yourself, and what you are capable of. It is the power of knowledge and self confidence. Attractiveness, sure; have you ever been attracted to someone who you might not have thought of as classically handsome or gorgeous, but somehow they fascinated you? They are people who are strong, capable and sure of themselves. Self confidence can be very attractive; arrogance on the other hand is not. Arrogance will get you in trouble every time; remember the old adage that “pride goeth before a fall”.

About the Book
This is the story of my journey to find myself and my beliefs. My journey or rebirth began with a death. When my mother passed away, I was lost, hurt, confused, and seeking answers, answers I wasn’t finding in all the usual places. In my grief and pain, I felt like parts of me had died as well. There had to be answers; there had to be a place that I belonged, where I felt whole and complete. And so my journey began and continues. I hope that sharing my journey may allow you an understanding and acceptance of your own. While they are separate and different journeys, we will cross paths upon the spiral of time and maybe even meet someday. Who can say? So I hope you enjoy my story, and may your own be as interesting for you as mine has been so far for me.
About the Author
Lisa Fisher, whose magickal name is Greyehawke, is a forty-five-year-old wise, woman who has been learning and living her beliefs for many years. She is on a journey of self-discovery and so far likes who she has found, and most of the journey as well. Like any road, there are ups and downs and sharp curves, but they keep the journey interesting. Greyehawke is a wife, mother, and park ranger, among other things. She has been happily married for twenty-four-plus years and has a beautiful daughter of twenty-one years. Lisa and her family live in a small town in the northeast kingdom of Vermont. They live just outside the town of Lunenburg on twenty acres of forest.
