In regards to the process of getting clean and staying clean, there have been many, many methods developed over the years. If you are a person who has had your life kidnapped by drugs and you have found freedom using some of these methods, author Norman Sharkey says thank you for letting him join you! It doesn’t matter what methods we use to stay drug-free; the important thing is that we do! Each person who has survived the insanity is one less problem for society and one more person with an answer for the people who are still kidnapped. Drugs don’t just kidnap the user; they take the whole family hostage. Drugs have become a plague in our world-wide society. Families stand by helplessly as their loved ones are devoured by this culture. The money spent on drugs by one addict, in one day, could probably feed a whole family in some countries for a month or longer! Sharkey’s only purpose for Sanity 365 is that in some way it may give you an extra little lift at some point during your day and remind you that the war is over and you survived it. We all know people who are still fighting; don’t forget them! To the family of the user, Sharkey also understands the helplessness that you feel since you most likely tried everything that has been suggested in the way of solutions. If the results have been negative so far, don’t give up hope; don’t give the kidnapped one the excuse that you don’t care. Make them accept the responsibility for their own situation. You are not forcing drugs on them. Seek help for your own sanity, because it will continue to be tested.

When Norman Sharkey accepted the reality that Santa Claus was a myth, he also decided that God was no different. Therefore, he had no need to be honest or be afraid of going to hell. When he was fourteen, the discovery of drugs allowed him to do things guilt-free, and the insanity began.
