You have done the hard part already. The Rest is easy.
You have a burning desire to quit, which means you are ready. There may be a few things that are pulling you back, but those are really minute and mainly psychological.
You are mainly here not because you don't know what to do, but you want to have that extra bit of pushing you off the edge or of keeping you away from ever falling back to smoking. Let me tell you, all of these are easy because the hardest bit was for you to come and find information, and you are doing that right now.
I smoked for 20 years. Before I gave up smoking, I was on two packets a day, and the intake of nicotine was very high. The Cigarette was a very integral part of my life. I didn’t know how to do anything without smoking. I suffered a lot and thought that I could never be apart of a healthy life, and I may die of lung cancer. That didn’t deter me. Somehow I always found a way to block those thoughts and carried on. I tried all types the nicotine tablets for almost a year, which led to other side effects. I tried the patches for a while, used various nicotine replacement therapy medicines prescribed by doctors, and tried hypnotherapy. None of this seemed to work for me. It’s not that this wouldn’t work on someone else. If others are like me, the pattern of thoughts is what made me want to keep coming back for cigarettes. I used the exact tools mentioned in this book to get rid of smoking within a few days and never felt like one again. If I can do it, you can do it.
People will tell you they have tried all the different products like patches, gums, puffers, etc. and it never worked. Or people may say to you that all the products failed; however, nicotine patches worked, or gum worked or quit cold turkey. All of these are correct; however, there are more significant changes that went through in your life. All this time you were trying, you were creating this intense desire to quit. It was getting added with every time you were trying until when you said enough is enough and you were ready to make a change. It was not the product which made you come to this point. It was your desire and intention which moved you to this point. Instead of repeating the process from the beginning like me with trial and error, you can use methods highlighted in this book, and make it very easy to quit. You can get to your desire and intention straight away and kick start the healing process. The process highlighted in this book not only can make you get rid of cigarette habits but also improve many parts of your life at the same time. In essence, it was mainly a mental game, and if you have reached here, you have reached the psychological threshold. Now it's easy to change as quitting is primarily a mental game.
Now what?
There are lots of ideas in this book, and understanding and acting on those will push you in the right direction. You are ready, but you will need to work on decision making and sticking to the exercises, staying positive, etc. Bit by bit, it will become straightforward, and you will never look back again.
Please remember that it's easy, very easy to quit. Everyone can do it. However, once the novelty wears out, people tend to go back.
They usually go back because they haven't worked on how to deal with it and want to bridge the void they feel. Can you blame anyone?
I don’t think so.
It’s years of emotional attachment that have resulted in this condition. It’s your body and every cell tuned to a particular way of life every day. When you try to change that, of course, the body will say hang on a second. Something doesn't feel right; why are you not abusing your body today? The body has been suppressing the chemicals to deal with poison, and when the poison does not flow in your body, you feel the desire of nicotine or intense cravings to feel that void.
There are lots of information on how to quit, but no quality information on how to stay nonsmoker and not to desire cigarettes, and even if you want, there is no useful information on how to deal with it. This book bridges that gap and provides the tools required to deal with this nicotine addiction.
If you are at the end of your life due to smoking, would you wish that you didn’t smoke knowing what you are going to leave behind like your loved ones? All the happiness and comfortable life you could have had and all the conversations and good times you missed as you skipped everything to smoke every 15 mins. Also, think about the consequences if you don't change.
