Life can be seen in way more colorful ways, lived with way more awareness and so much more joy. As human beings we are all bestowed with huge potential – much bigger than what we actually make use of. Only a fraction of our brain’s capacity is normally activated and we’re still mostly oblivious of the power of the emotions we feel, and the intelligence residing in our hearts.
We have come to this planet with the potential for happiness. We all share this most important potential of all. This inner spirit of joyfulness is yet to be discovered on a large scale. Most of us are still largely unaware of our innate capability to feel lighthearted. This book offers insights into a variety of modalities that help with getting there.
The majority of people have a wealth of inner gifts they are largely unaware of and incapable to verbally express. These gifts come in the form of a unique combination of wonderful character traits, lovely talents and great capabilities that far too often remain hidden and therefore totally untapped. It’s therefore not surprising that so many of us feel that there is so much more we could be and do.
There is a widespread sense that we could show up in life in more vibrant and delightful expressions of ourselves than we usually do. This vague and persistently nagging feeling that we could somehow be playing a bigger game is very common these days. This is one thing we also seem to share as people across nations: the inner urge to grow, to evolve, to make a contribution, to become more aware, and more consistently conscious. This desire has been called ‘the evolutionary impulse’.
It’s like an unseen force nudging us forward to break free from limitations, unfold and thrive. We have this impulse, nearly like an instinct, to develop our potentials and make good use of them. This is one more indicator that, like everything else in nature, we are programmed to grow and flourish. If we ignore this desire to spread our wings and to fly high, we are bound to turn sour and feel terribly frustrated – even depressed.
There is an incredible wealth of skills and capabilities we carry in our genes that has been passed down to us by a long line of ancestors. These strengths are there for us to make the most of in order to live in ways that are enchanting, caring and thus feel fulfilling. However, our fast-paced materialistic, competitive culture instills more fears than wellbeing. The hectic lifestyle prevents people from finding that space in their hearts where joy and serenity reside at all times.
According to ancient mystical teachings, we are actually meant to live joyfully. While too many of us seem to have forgotten this, we luckily have science now to validate what wisdom traditions have been emphasizing for ages.
There is a growing amount of people all over the world who realize that living in ways that don’t express our capability to feel fully present, intensely enthusiastic, or profoundly peaceful limits us in ways that have serious consequences. It’s detrimental to our wellbeing and health. The cloud of negative emotions we produce collectively as humanity feels absolutely suffocating at this point in time.
It’s very destructive for us, as well as for the environment, when we are out of synch with those tunes of emotions that just by themselves have the power to create harmony and balance in our hearts, and positively impact all those around us. This book presents a variety of approaches and methods from the East and West that effectively address the issue of perpetuated stress and unhappiness and is aimed to assist you to develop the skills that matter most for navigating this intensely insane era with more ease. These capabilities create more lightheartedness.
It comes to us naturally when we feel enchanted. It unfolds when we appreciate and celebrate what’s beautiful and beneficial around us. It comes when we find ways to reduce the constant churning of thoughts and feelings about what seems so outrageously wrong with the upside-down world in which we live. Lightheartedness is right there when we decide to giggle a bit, or laugh out loud – even if we fake the laughter for the sake of cultivating happiness. We can easily tune our emotions to its frequency.
Shifting our awareness to our hearts and laughing more often is what creates shifts and breakthroughs that make all the difference. Allowing ourselves to consciously bring on more heartfelt emotions, such as appreciation, wonder, or gratitude is how we can shift our inner state and our focus, again and again. That’s it. Nothing else is really needed. In my eyes, nothing is as empowering, as effective and as much fun as practicing the skill of tuning our own inner emotional landscape to the mode of lightheartedness.
Feeling uplifting emotions doesn’t only make us feel good. It’s soooo freakin good it even triggers rejuvenation on a cellular level. I mean, how good is that? The implications of this scientifically proven fact are remarkable. It’s a game changer. The essential role of the emotions we feel as we go about our days cannot be overstated. Transforming the emotions is the crucial factor if we want to excel at anything, or just simply want to live a more satisfying and healthy life.
Emotions create our perceptions, dominate our decisions, and determine the level of coherence and balance throughout our system. Either our feelings sap our energy, get us down to our knees, and lead to shrinking on all levels; or they lift us up, soften us and allow us to expand. As simple as that.
The quality of our lives depends on the emotions we feel. The quality of our relationships depends on what’s going on in our hearts. Even though this sounds perfectly logical, most people are not yet aware that we have the ability to shift into light and lovely emotions within minutes.
