It was many days after the first eggs had hatched that Mother heard a C rrr aaa ck. “The egg is hatching at last,” she said, relieved. When she thought it was safe, she very carefully stretched and stepped off the nest. There he was, the last little chick. He was beautiful. He looked up at her and squeaked!! “Oh!” exclaimed a very surprised Mother. “You were late hatching, but you have a very strong, loud voice.”

About the Book
From the moment Squeaky hatched, his family realised there was something different about him. His reaction to everyday events was not at all like the other Purple Swamp Hens. Little did they realise that this late hatch-ling was going to change the way they had always done things, and bring the whole family closer together.
About the Author
I am an early years teacher and have had Autistic and Asperger children in my class so have a real desire to help the world understand these children and why they cannot conform to so called “normal behaviour” My book I hope may help with this understanding and encourage children with special needs to know that its ok to be different.
