Josephine unwrapped the pink piece of gum and popped it in her mouth. It tasted sweet and delicious as bubble gum does. She looked around for a trash can to place the gum wrapper in, but noticed that there weren’t any in sight. She carried the wrapper in her tiny hand another block , but still no trash can to be found As she walked, she noticed that there was litter and trash all around. It was in the gutters, at the edge of the street, and blowing and rolling across her path. Trash was everywhere, she thought. What harm could one more little gum wrapper make when all of this litter was already on the ground and blowing through the streets?
