A Journey Towards Hope

It has been said that the only thing permanent in life is change. The types of change are as vast as the universe itself, from physical change as simple as getting a haircut to change on a cosmological scale such as the birth of a new star in the heavens. Is any one particular change more important than others? That is a question best left answered by every individual on a personal level, for a change that brings joy to one person may cause another to shrug their shoulders in indifference.

The story in this book is one of change, a poetic journey of one souls trials of depression, paranoia and hopelessness to the awakening of hope and the inspiration found by a renewed love of life. The path of the story will be familiar to many, as I am not the only one who has walked it, but it is unique as all of our individual stories are. If any reader sees a bit of themselves in my story, that surely is a good thing. The problems each of us face, real or imagined, as we trek through the years can be so similar it is a wonder we feel ashamed, guilty or angry about them. You can be sure many of the people you see each day are dealing with the same issues, the same headaches or the same heartaches as you are. Some of us find the strength to overcome and to learn from our past experiences, some of us continue in circles of self-destruction. My hope for this book is that some of you will use my words to find the strength to avoid becoming one of the latter.
