Chapter Five
“What is temptation but the WISH to stay in hell and misery? And what could this give rise to BUT an image of yourself that CAN be miserable, and remain in hell and torment? Who has learned to see his brother NOT as this HAS saved himself, and thus IS he a Savior to the rest? To everyone has God entrusted all, because a PARTIAL savior would be one who is but partly saved. The holy ones whom God has given each of you to save are everyone you meet or look upon, not knowing who they are; all those you saw an instant and forgot, and those you knew a long while since, and those you will yet meet, the unremembered and the not yet born. For God has given you His Son to save from every concept that he ever held.” (Urtext ACIM pg. 569)
Jesus made it clear that Dee could ask her questions and she did not have to be asked twice. These questions had been a part of her for lifetimes. “Why, after 2000 years have things not changed for mankind, even with what you brought us? Why do we still destroy ourselves and each other?”
Dee found herself looking at a mirage in the meadow they were standing in. It portrayed the ancient world. She saw Jesus there; he had fasted forty days and was being tempted to turn the stone into bread.
Beside her, Jesus explained that since the time when Christ first thought he had separated from God, the whole world has become the chaos that reflects that insane and impossible thought. “What has this temptation to do with my question”, she asked?
“The idea of division has led to a belief in scarcity and need. That leads to addictions of all sorts. Before we go into that I want you to understand a little better who you and I are.”
“Did you note my answer to the temptation to turn the stone to bread? “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” The Word of God is all of creation, each of the seeming parts making up the Whole. We, His children, are the Christ. Just as He is the Father, God. There is no separation amongst any of us. It is our understanding of our unity and that the separation was just not possible; that will be our deliverance.” Jesus began.
“In John 1:1 we read “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God”. Word is humanity, all of Christ, not Jesus alone. You and I are parts of Him that have been fabricated to punish Himself for an impossible error. We are also the saviors of one another as we recognize the mistake and live in the witness of the truth.”
“We are all fragments of the whole and we dwell within God, His creating did not move outward, but inward, just as ours does. This is why what we think is what we have in life.”
“The outward appearance of form was given by His Father to allow the Son time to remember who He is. We were created as energy first and then in the physical. Both being essences of form. We were derived by thought and powered by Love, which is God’s true essence Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end, one eternal round,” Jesus paused to allow her to absorb what he was saying, even as it entered her mind as a full concept.
That was a pretty big statement. Here in this place outside the body she understood perfectly what he was saying, because the sense of oneness was, well, it just was. You did not even have to think about it. But in the world of bodies it was really very challenging. We each seemed so isolated and alone, yet dependent on others for survival oddly enough. “Yes, and that dependence is the reminder of our Oneness”, Jesus said with a nod.
“Our joyful existence in each moment while we are in form (either physical or spiritual), acts as a stimulant to gently awaken the Son of God to the fullness of His Father’s presence. It allows Him to come out of the dream of the error. Therefore, to live joyfully in the moment, is the best way that we may serve God, ourselves, and those who come after us.”
Here, without a body and feeling the connection with all creation while in spirit she could grasp what Jesus was sharing with her. She remembered the many NDE’s she had read. They came back knowing there was something that they needed to do. What if that something was simply to live in joy and bliss?
What if that is why we have so many lives? We get bogged down with the physical form and its issues and then the ego dreams up scarcity, comparisons, and jealousies. Trapping us in a vicious circle that simply perpetuates the original error. She was getting excited. Maybe, understanding the problem would allow the human psyche to be able to receive the solution.
What if our role is simply to be happy? What if the joy of God is inside out to what we live today? Meaning it is not what we get or who we know, but how we acknowledge who we are and where our real power lies! She could hardly keep from jumping up and down, even if she did not have a physical body at the moment!
