The Power of Thought to Change Your Life The world within is a direct reflection of the world without. There is a huge world of thought that brings about or manifest every condition in our lives; a life force that determines light and life, beauty and joy, peace and harmony, or suffering and lack. This world of thought is so powerful that we are creating every day the kinds of conditions that are a result of our habitual thinking. Our mind can be likened to a garden that does not care what we impress upon it, it will only return in like. Take the garden for example, if you plant white corn, you will get white corn every time. If you plant positive and affirmative thoughts in your mind you will have a life that is positive and affirmative. This is probably one of the most powerful laws of life that you can learn today. Our difficulties are due mostly to our confused thoughts and ways of thinking about ourselves. Your biggest task is to discover, what are these thoughts that I have about myself? When you do you can begin the practice of changing your thoughts and therefore changing your life. It may sound like a difficult task but it is as simple as taking some time each day to get quiet, and listen for the wisdom that is available to you. Remember that thought is energy, at first un-manifest, and then when placed in a definite direction, can become concentrated towards any effort or goal. The ability to recognize and receive this power depends on the ability to recognize the infinite energy that is available to us at all times. It is really a powerful lesson that has been taught by some of the greatest teachers in the world. Marcus Aurelius says that our life is what our thoughts make it. Wayne Dyer says that if you change the way you look at things the things you look at change. Our mind is life the soil in a garden, whatever we plant into that garden it is returned likewise. And so it is with our minds. Whatever we plant in the mind becomes the seed of our thoughts. Think of the two aspects of your mind the conscious and the subconscious mind. The subconscious is often referred to as the seat of the soul or subjective mind. The subconscious mind makes possible all of the functions of physical life possible. It is powerful because it helps us with memory, warns us of danger, and keeps us breathing while we sleep. The conscious mind, on the other hand, is the gatekeeper or the objective mind. Whatever we receive in our conscious mind has to be watched and filtered before reaching the subconscious mind and becoming a reality. Thus, thoughts of fear, lack, worry, disease, or disharmony have to be guarded by the gatekeeper. Once these thoughts have been allowed to reach the subconscious mind, it is here where they take root in the soil of your mind and become a process of habitual thought. The gatekeeper must be on guard at all times to ensure that all of what you desire is really what you are planting within your fertile mind. Remember when you change your thoughts, you change your life.
