About the Book
This book is a tribute to the author’s childhood memories. Specifically, it is an attempt to share with children from around the world the happiness that can result from living in a loving and caring environment. This book highlights the joy of simple, but happy living.
About the Author
María L. Villagómez is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. She is the first in her family to graduate from high school and from college. She was born in Ventura, CA but was raised by her grandmother in Mexico. At age fourteen, she returned to the United States to continue her education. She holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Spanish with a concentration in literature, culture and linguistics and a second Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning. Currently, Ms. Villagómez is a Senior Academic Administrator at Napa Valley College in California, USA, but she has taught Spanish in higher education for over nineteen years. Ms. Villagómez has translated children’s books from English to Spanish and was the Spanish Consultant to Universal Kid’s TV show Nina’s World.
