Mommy said that when she wanted to see the special glass, Grandma would sit with my Mommy in her lap and show the pieces to her. Mommy learned to respect Grandma’s treasures and told me, “I didn’t want to make your Grandma cry by breaking her valuables so when I wanted to see the glass, I would ask your Grandma to show me.” That became special time between my Mommy and my Grandma.

About the Book
We hold certain things precious and dear. In order to protect those items, we say to our young children, “No! Don’t touch.” My mother taught me to respect other people’s property, and I wanted to teach my children the same lesson. A greater gift happened for me while teaching this lesson. I learned that while I was sharing my treasures with my children, I was enjoying the precious time spent with each child and the undivided attention and love. Sharing precious treasures turned into precious time and creating precious memories. Those memories are the real treasure!
