About the Book

Many people want to quit their jobs but don’t believe they can so they don’t. Amy Catherine actually quit hers. She stopped being a lawyer at the age of 47 and decided to learn to make music. Her transition to a creative person was harrowing because she was ill-equipped to handle the strangeness that accompanied the changes she made. Ultimately she hit a mental low point in July 2025. She struggled to keep going, but she stayed the course and pulled herself through depression. Eventually in December 2025, she discovered a psychological theory that allowed her to eliminate anxious feelings that were holding her back. After that, she was able to put herself back together. Shortly after she started putting things together for herself, Amy started writing this book to understand and memorialize her experience. This book describes her journey and the tools, techniques, and concepts that were most helpful to her as she navigated major life change. The concepts presented here will be useful to anyone contemplating change and inspiring to anyone resisting it. Amy’s story is proof that change is possible regardless of your age or how high the stakes.
