About the Book

Alice awakes in hospital in Paris after being rammed by a truck during a conversation with Emily, her wife. She is relieved that the baby she is carrying is safe. The police accuse her of being responsible for the global gridlock that has caused many deaths worldwide, claiming that the chairman of Swav Motors has said that she is the only one capable of making this happen. Alice knows that she is innocent but she is worried that her beloved wife, Emily, is responsible. When she is visited by the chairman of Swav Alice tell him of her concern for Emily. A nurse takes a call from Emily that reassures Alice that her wife is safe. Discharged from hospital after the birth of their son, Alice returns to Australia where the search for Emily begins.

About the Author

Peter Spence was born in Goulburn in New South Wales and lived there until he went to Teacher’s College in Sydney. His teaching career lasted 50 years during which he taught several subjects but Mathematics and English were his specialties. Most of his teaching was in Brisbane. He has an Arts degree from Queensland University in Mathematics and English and Education Degree from New England University in Research and Statistics. For several years he was a marker who corrected a set of exams which were a part of the enrolment process for Queensland Universities. He wrote two books that helped students prepare for these exams. These books were widely used for 20 years until Education across Australia was unified and the exam was no longer used. In all he wrote six Literacy and Numeracy workbooks as well as several computer packages, the most successful of which was Smart Lab, a Literacy and Numeracy Remedial Package.
