Jay Thompson wasn't like the other kid's in his neighborhood . While they spent their afternoon's playing soccer or video game's , Jay found himself captivated by the song's that echoed from his parent's old record player. Music was his escape, his sanctuary. He would sit for hour's listening to the voices of legends, trying to understand how they could convey so much emotion with just a melody. At twelve years old, Jay knew he wanted to be a singer. But there was one small problem-every time he opened his mouth to sing the voice that came out didn't match the one in his head. It wasn't that he was bad; in fact, his voice was fine. But "fine" wasn't what he was looking for. He wanted to find his true voice, the one that would make people stop and listen, the one that could make a difference.

About the Book
The book is about a 12 year old boy wanting to sing and not believing in himself and having to go through the journey off his singing career and relationships along the way.
About the Author
Simon Goodridge lives with his guardians, his great aunt Dianne and great uncle Colin, along with his half-brother Dominic. He keeps in contact with his parents, as well as his other half-siblings. He has faced many challenges in life, including autism, ADHD, FASD, and a chromosomal microdeletion. He has learned to not let anything hold him back and to believe in himself. He encourages readers to pursue what they love, no matter what.
