ALIGNING YOUR PRIORITIES
“Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not
enough time on what is important.”
Stephen R Covey
Priorities are the areas/topics/people/activities of your life that
are most meaningful to you. Despite their importance, many
of us are unclear about what priorities are, which increases
our stress as we are constantly juggling our time, money,
energy, etc. It can be challenging to decide which aspects of
our lives are top priorities, especially when we are caught in
the grind of keeping up with life.
It is important to clearly define your priorities because it allows
you clarity and clarity equals power. Knowing your priorities
keeps you on track to achieving your goals, allowing for more
peace in your life, and actually propelling you to
accomplishing more while living in joy and authenticity.
We find ourselves in patterns where we let the days run us,
and then we’re surprised by the outcomes of our lives. We
don't make deliberate choices and still feel shocked when we
evaluate “how did I get here?’ Failing to realize it was a
series of saying “yes’ to decisions that should have been a
“hard no.”
Do you prioritize areas of your life and make intentional
decisions based on those priorities or do you go with the flow
and leave everything to chance? In life we often are faced
with choices that are in direct conflict with our priorities.
Example:
You know that spending time with your family is a priority of
yours. At work, you are offered a fantastic promotion which
requires more travel than you would like. Travel separates
you from your loved ones. If your priorities aren’t at the top of
your mind you may say yes and then be stuck in a place of
stress and not aligned with your priority of being with your
family. If you remember your family as priority you will be
able to make the decision that best suits you.
The key is to know what matters most to you, before you’re
faced with a decision, and to be unwilling to compromise on
those priorities. It’s time to assign your top priorities so you
are in alignment with your mission, vision and values, and the
path to your ascent!
Use the space below to write down the names of the things
and people who bring you the most joy, pride, a feeling of
success, happiness, momentum, etc. List the things that are
non-negotiable as far as being allowed the time in your daily
life. Where you know you absolutely must spend time, non-
negotiable.

Committing to Improvement and constant evolution is easier
with The Focus Five!
In a world filled with endless distractions and competing
priorities, the key to personal growth often lies in focusing on
a select few areas that truly matter. The “Focus 5” approach
advocates for directing our energy towards five core aspects
of life: health, finance, business, spiritual well-being, and
personal relationships. While each of these areas holds
significance in our lives, committing to the improvement of just
one aspect in each of these five areas over time and
commitment will lead to profound changes and lasting
benefits.
Today, let’s hone in on the importance of selecting one priority
within each of these categories and dedicating ourselves to its
enhancement.
1. Health: Whether it’s physical fitness, mental well-being, or
dietary habits, our health forms the foundation of a fulfilling
life. Choosing to prioritize one aspect of health, such as
regular exercise or better sleep hygiene, can have a ripple
effect on every other area of our lives.
2. Finance: Financial stability and security are essential for
peace of mind and pursuing our goals. Whether it’s budgeting,
saving, or investing, committing to improving our financial
literacy and habits can pave the way for future success and
reduce stress.
3. Business: For entrepreneurs and professionals alike,
continual growth and innovation are crucial for staying
competitive. By focusing on enhancing a specific skill set,
expanding networks, or refining business strategies,
individuals can position themselves for advancement and
fulfillment in their careers.
4. Spiritual Well-being: Nurturing our spiritual selves is just as
important as tending to our physical and financial needs.
Whether through meditation, prayer, or acts of service,
dedicating time to deepen our connection with something
greater than ourselves can provide clarity, purpose, and inner
peace.
5. Personal Relationships: Our relationships with friends,
family, and loved ones significantly impact our happiness and
well-being. By committing to improving communication,
fostering empathy, or investing quality time in our
relationships, we can cultivate stronger bonds and a more
supportive social network.
In conclusion, the Focus 5 approach challenges us to identify
one priority within each realm of health, finance, business,
spiritual well-being, and personal relationships, and commit to
its improvement. By focusing our efforts and attention, we can
make meaningful strides towards a more balanced, fulfilling,
and successful life. What will you choose to prioritize today?
Take the time to list below the one thing you will focus on
