I Love You, You Are Enough!
I have never believed that I was truly enough. I always thought I needed to do more, be more, work more, strive more – in other words, be perfect. In fact, no matter how many life-affirming messages I receive from the God/dess, I find myself thinking that I must earn my way into her good graces by doing MORE. I still find it hard to believe that I can just be myself, and that is enough.
I think it has to do with the American work ethic of always doing more. We must always improve, to top last year's goals, to be bigger and better at everything we do. Even those of us who are walking a spiritual path seem to think that we must meditate more, journal more, listen to more web offerings, or contort ourselves in ever more constricted ways to be spiritual enough.
Lately, in my spiritual imagination, I have been seeing myself as an amazing, powerful God/dess. This God/dess is full of light and is channeling the unconditional love of the universe and the unconditional love of Mother Gaia out into the world through her heart. This image is incredibly powerful. It gives me permission to just be, while at the same time showing me that just being is enough. I can see myself as loving, powerful, and enough. All I must do is open my heart and allow that love to flow through me. Just that simple – open and allow. I am enough!
