Phase 1 spouse: The spouse is pro military or pro first responder. They are your biggest fan. They want everyone to know that they are married to a hero. They may wear a shirt that says, “Army wife.” Phase 2 spouse: They hate every aspect of the job. They hate the time you spend away from the family and continue to remind you every day. Phase 3 spouse: This is the middle ground between phase 1 and phase 2. They may hate that you are deployed or are away but understand this is a career. With this being said, they are more of a professional spouse. They understand your job sucks. They tend to not be jumping for joy or complaining in front of guests, but they might wear in public a pin that says, “The Key Wives Club” (aka “The Key Knives Club” and “Fucking Bitches.”)
