Introduction
Do Peace and Ease Elude You?
When my husband and I helped our son move into residence for his first year of university, I was pleased with how well I was managing emotionally. This is usually an emotional time for parents, launching a child into the world and not having them under their roof anymore, yet I was upbeat, cheerful, and excited for him as he embarked on this new life experience.
And then it happened . . .
When my husband and I returned home, and I walked past that empty bedroom, I lost it. Once the tears started, I couldn’t seem to make them stop. I was aware of the words, He’s gone, he’s gone, running on a loop in my mind and the emotions they were creating within me.
What am I doing? I thought. He’s not gone. He is away. This is his home, and he will be back in two weeks and then again at Christmas, and he’ll move home for the summer!
As I embraced the words “He is away,” my tears instantly dried up, my mood improved, and I went about the rest of my day with peace and ease. I could see the wisdom of that moment—how quickly an emotional issue can be created unconsciously or subconsciously, and how, with consciousness, it can be quickly and powerfully shifted.
That day was pivotal for me. I realized that I used this conscious inner talk quite often to overcome difficult emotions, heal layers of my issues, transform old patterns of thought that limited my potential, and create a perception of my life that was upbeat. What struck me was how powerful this inner process had been in transforming my thinking and perceptions of daily life as well as challenging events—and that I’d been doing it automatically for over 25 years!
As I reflected and looked more closely at this inner process, I saw a series of distinct steps that my mind progresses through as it consciously overcomes emotional responses that do not support me. These steps identify my thoughts and emotions, as well as the beliefs that create those thoughts and emotions.
A natural dialogue with myself unfolds, through which I evaluate the validity of those thoughts and beliefs, discard what is false, and replace it with something that uplifts and supports me. After creating this new supportive belief, I often ask myself what the deeper meaning or spiritual purpose is in the experience, so I can see the bigger Divine picture of my struggles.
I also realized that I naturally take clients and students through this same process to help them redefine and shift their perceptions of themselves and their life experiences, often with great success. I have seen many clients and students experience subtle and gradual shifts in their pain, and many have reported ways their lives have changed for the better. As with my own life, I could see that these steps hold a transformative power. From there, The Self-Transformation Method was born.
Consciousness Is the Key to a Peaceful Life
We all suffer emotional turmoil. It is a normal part of being human. It is also a key ingredient in evolving and expanding consciousness and walking the path toward enlightenment. Each and every one of us also has the power and ability to transform that emotional turmoil. We are conscious beings with an innate ability to choose what to believe and think and, thus, what to feel.
What You Will Get from This Program
What is happening inside you? This book will help you answer that question many times over. I will teach you how to raise your awareness of your thoughts, beliefs, emotional responses, and pain points, and how your inner dialogue drives your behaviour. Once you have some self-awareness, you will be able to see the places you want to transform. You cannot change anything if you don’t know what needs changing. When you are aware of your mind, you can consciously choose how you want to feel by choosing what you want to believe and think. As you do this, you begin to love yourself more. You begin to see the higher Divine or spiritual perspective in your experiences, and this can ease emotional pain. As you expand in consciousness, understanding yourself and your life with greater wisdom, you evolve spiritually and walk forward on your path toward enlightenment. You begin to feel more peace and ease in your daily life.
This program will teach you how to:
•
Mentally step out of human dramas and view them objectively.
•
Identify, increase your awareness of, and transform your inner dialogue and emotional responses.
•
Consciously choose thoughts and beliefs that support you and that you can embrace fully.
•

How To Transform Your Life – The Self-Transformation Method
The program I am giving you has the power and potential to completely transform your life. It consists of six steps, each with a key question to ask yourself:
Step 1: Identify Your Emotions – How do I feel?
Step 2: Identify Your Thoughts – What do I think?
Step 3: Identify Your Beliefs – What do I believe?
Step 4: Evaluate the Validity of Your Beliefs – Are my beliefs true?
Step 5: Create New Supportive Beliefs – What beliefs will support me?
Step 6: Explore the Spiritual Meaning of Your Experiences – What have I learned about myself and who I am?
The intention is to let the steps morph into a regular automatic process of the mind, flowing from one to the next, by asking yourself the key question at each step. As you release what does not serve you and discover what supports you, you find greater peace and ease in your life. It’s all about being aware of that inner dialogue and changing it so that it supports you.
