I Can Fly As I was walking in the woods one day, Feeling quite cheerful and yearning to play, I began asking my angel for some help and guidance, But all I got was a deafening silence. I wondered by no words of wisdom came to me, But then I looked, THEY were there to see. Right behind my shoulders and just above my head, Were a magnificent pair of wings trimmed in bright red, Filled with the most extraordinary colors I've ever seen, Swirling, gold, yellow, orange and green. They were definitely wings from an other-worldly creature. They were arched high, that was their most spectacular feature. They looked like no wings I had seen on a bird or mammal. My angel guide said they looked as they should. Then light breeze that began at my feet, Swirled me around, I felt the ground retreat. A light gust of wind whisked me up hight, I was frightened at first, I didn't know I could fly. I took a deep breath and released a sigh, When I looked over my shoulder, I saw a dove flying by. As I felt my cares and worries behind, I wondered by it took so long for me to find, This amazing gift that was mine for the taking, I guess it just required a little awakening. Enter the Divine Sitting in the cool early morning breeze, my thoughts seem to emanate in the rustle of the trees. Somehow in my deepest being, an awareness of my soul's learning. Leaning to the right, to my busy doing side, a relentless feeling of a roller coaster ride. How is it that doing takes precedence over Being? that stillness is lost in the hustle, bustle, not seeing, The connection with the soul's joyful journey, Will have to start over, again and again, returning. Over and over until the truth is finally heard, Connection with the Divine is the final word. No more running, in continual distraction, With life only lived as a process of reaction. When finally, after many lifetime lessons, I have learned to say thank you for all those blessings. Understanding the Divine is always in charge, The ego stopped fighting a battle so large, It took lifetimes and lifetimes of clearing karma, To Enter the Divine porthole through the bliss of Dharma.

About the Book
Marilyn’s life has been a series of challenging experiences, not unlike most of the human population. Early on, she felt disconnected and alone even in her own family. Her artful heart never gave up. She studied many religions, philosophies, and the ideas of the great thinkers. By the 1990s she was formulating her life as only the artistic heart can do. From sculpture to charcoal drawing, to poetry, singing, and journaling, she found a place inside that she could connect to and a feeling of freedom to be herself. The inspiration comes from her children, her ideals, and her profound interest in humanity, and the course of events that continue to alter and affect her direction. Persistence has become her motto, gratitude her daily practice, and a pointed focus on the minutiae of energy that allows change into each day.
About the Author
Marilyn began writing poetry as a therapy of sorts. It started as a journaling process and then each journal entry turned into a poem of hope and sincere soul searching. As the years passed the poetry became a means of understanding herself and accepting her life as a struggle but also as a gift.
