About the Book

JJ Abbott had been married more than fifty years when she realized her beloved husband was a cheater and liar. Heart-broken, she discovered that she was the victim of destruction in her own life. She struggled with the loss of the special person who had always been her safe place. Seeking guidance, she recognized not enough had been written to explain her intense emotions and what to expect for the unfamiliar future in front of her. She could not grasp how such a seemingly healthy, happy marriage could turn to betrayal and heartbreak. Desperate, JJ researched causes of adultery and found several variables: depression, chemical dependency, chemical imbalances in the brain, family genetics, family history, and sometimes other traumatic events. Through her personal research, and her faith in God, she was able to begin the healing process—and so can you. Using Bible quotes, quotes from other wise women, and song lyrics, JJ shares her healing journey. She also includes resources to help with this time in life, including important phone numbers and email addresses for specific contacts. There is no legal advice within, but this memoir does encourage finding a counselor and lawyer. Mostly, though, it is written to help you follow a loving God during complex times.
