Attitudes and Breakthroughs Introduction The way we look at life matters. What we apply meaning to life, matters. When we change our mindsets, it can matter. When we open our hearts to possibilities, we breakthrough. Q1. What’s the most beautiful thing about you? This is a list. Nature has a kiss of beauty planted on everything she creates. You are a part of nature and have received a kiss from her. Close your eyes and claim everything this means. Q2. What gives you that livin’ feeling? Do more of that. Let the energy fuel you to take the next step towards your new life. Q3. What is something “forever” for you? Is love involved? Do you believe in forever? Q4. When you are looking for answers, do you go within or ask someone you trust? Start with the attitude of knowing there is an answer waiting for you. What steps do you take to journey deep inside yourself? That is where peace is found and where the answers lie. Going inside yourself can reveal who the best person is to ask. Take care to seek someone who will give you the right answer, not someone who will just tell you what you want to hear. Q5. Is life happening for you or to you today? Where is your power? Whose victim are you? What victory is yours today? You really have more power than you claim. Where are you the authority? What authority do you have? Q6. Do you control your thoughts, or do your thoughts control you? You are actually in control of bringing a lot of good into this world. Are you doing that in every way you can? There are times when you may be gaslighted, tricked into taking the blame for things that are not your fault. But, you must take responsibility for whatever you may have contributed to the situation. Q7. When was the last time you asked for help? Do you feel that asking for help is a sign of weakness? In fact, quite the opposite is true. We cry into our pillows, not wanting to appear weak. When asked if something is wrong, we reply, “I’m fine” when we aren’t. Q8. What will you defend? Even the timidest of us will defend something. What makes you stand up for what you believe in? When did you last do that? Is this something you find easy or hard to do? Is there a person or persons you will always defend? Q9. Is it important to you that people take your advice if they have asked you for it? What is it about being asked for help and then seeing someone not use your help that bothers you? Do you take offense or become reluctant to offer help again if someone ignores your advice? Or do you not care whether they do or don’t? Q10. What is your heart trying to tell your head? Listen softly. The heart often speaks in a whisper. Are your heart and your head in agreement? When do they disagree? Amit Ray says, “Education is unfolding the wings of head and heart together.” Jeanette Winterson says, “I don’t own my emotions unless I can think about them. I am not afraid of feeling but I am afraid of feeling unthinkingly. I don’t want to drown. My head is my heart’s lifebelt.” Q11. What words would you put on a T-shirt and wear with pride? Try to find ten words or fewer that says exactly what you want to say. Do you want to be humorous, provocative, cute, or bold? Q12. What’s your word for the year ahead? It can be a mantra. And it doesn’t have to be for the entire year. It can be a word or phrase for the week or month-even for the day! You are always in control of your word and have freedom of choice. The only thing we suggest is that it be empowering and that its energy pulls you forward. Q13. What is that voice inside your head telling you right now? Is it being kind to you? Is it being cruel? What is it saying? When did you first hear those words? Who said them to you? You know it’s not the real you, right? Listen carefully to the voice and then talk back to it. Disagree with negativity. Tell it whether it can stay or go! Q14. Do you like or love yourself? There’s a difference. And there is a journey to walk here. This journey has no finish line; and the start line is wherever this finds you today. We don’t think we can love ourselves too much. Do you? Q15. In which ways have you grown in recent years? List the ways you have changed ethically in the last five years. List the ways you have evolved your attitudes towards other people. List the ways you have become a better person. Q16. When have you felt victorious? You are already a winner. Tell us about it. Q17. What has been the greatest aha moment in your life? Have you experienced a time when the lights came on and you understood something for the first time? A time when you said, “OK, I get it now”? What was the situation? Describe the feeling. Q18. What is the lesson you have yet to learn? Are you a slow learner of life and find yourself experiencing the same issue over and over again? Or have you “graduated” from the class and know you will never ever, ever need to repeat it? Can you teach somebody else what you’ve learned? Q19. What’s in a name for you? Did you see the name Elon Musk recently gave to his new baby? We think names should be meaningful. And what about those big dogs named Tiny? Or cats named Dog? What does that say about the owner?
