Overcoming Obstacles is a vivid account of occurrences throughout my life in a real
tough southern existence with a deliberate and mindful dependence on Jesus above all things.
While facing many and sometimes re-occurring trials & test, it was always extremely important
that I stayed focused on my dream!
Realizing early on that the spirit of God was within me, and in all things living around
me, I found life to be less compelling and much easier to move past fear and hardship.
I grew up in a small community called Rains, in South Carolina and attended all black
schools throughout grade-high school and college. I always found it to be relatively easy to
develop friendships with both male and female without any trepidation(fear)at all. I welcomed
those relationships that I knew would become challenges in the future, I have always been a
wholesome competitor at heart.
Many memories flow and continuously surface when I sit down to write after my
inspiration comes, I’ve come to realize that God uses your past to fuel and fertilize your future.
Presently I’m 56 years old, a parent and grandparent as well. I am the founder of ON TTRACC
BIBLE BUSINESS COLLEGE which is currently undertaking the development of our own
nursing school. This school is designed to teach the fundamental process and philosophy of
individuals taking and idea or dream if you will, put it down on paper and assiduously develop it
into a course curriculum to follow in order to create a viable business to multiply the wealth for
generations to come after us.
Over a century ago great men and women developed businesses-Walter Chrysler, Henry
Ford, the Hunts, Heinz, the DuPont’s, Mr. Firestone and Charlie Arsenic who developed
“poison” along with many others of varying races came to America over time and created an
industrial revolution of thriving business which are still generating Billions of dollars for their
descendants today. However, those same descendants today are farming those jobs and wealth
into other countries where cheaper labor exist with greater profits.
Forty million students graduate from schools and colleges every year who are faced with
the task of preparing for an interview for a job which has already been designed for someone
else.
The one thing that has been missing in the equation for developing and acquiring the
American Dream for black people is Business development and ownership.
A chronicle of events throughout my life which is described in detail to include love,
broken trust, justice and injustice, patience, perseverance, strengths and weaknesses. Jesus has
without any doubt brought me through the natural vicissitudes of life while I traveled on my
journey of pursuing my destiny. The continuous process of patiently although not always so
patient, but willing to take the chance or the next step of continuing to learn through trial and
error the continuous process of growth which is the key to finding success, never give up!
