"Just because she isn't crying doesn't mean she isn't hurting."~Tasha Blount As a mother to three children and a stepmother to three more it is not unusual for me to have routines: especially hair routines since all four of my girl's wear their natural hair. My dream began with me performing my usual wash day routine on a Saturday using my regular natural hair care products at my favorite sink in the house. As I was washing my two youngest daughter's hair, I told them to reach under the sink to grab the conditioner. So, they did. I placed the conditioner on both of their scalps at the same time. It did not take more than one minute for me to realize something was terribly wrong. The conditioner was straightening their hair! At that very second, I began to scream for my two oldest daughters to grab Trinity and rinse her hair. While I grabbed Christianna and rinsed her hair out. My middle baby, Trinity, was somewhat shaken by the whole situation but okay. However, as I was rinsing my baby girl's hair the damage was awful, she had lost lots of hair and had noticeable burns all over her scalp. Christianna, never cried during the entire ordeal. Listen, Christianna's skull was exposed through her scalp in some places. She even had third degree burns yet, she never even whimpered!
