Creating Awareness
Creating, or manifesting as some call it, is a natural part of our lives. We generate schedules for our day, activities for our children, plans for trips, shopping lists, excuses, etc. We often go to ‘auto-pilot’ to perform these tasks just to get through our day and hopefully accomplish the myriad of things we think we need to do. We generally don’t think of these actions as creating; however, the act of creation is a very valid and powerful process, regardless of how it’s done. It is important to understand that there are two ways to create—consciously and unconsciously.
Unconscious creation is living our lives without awareness or on ‘auto-pilot.’ It feels like so many things just happen, and we have little control over our lives. We get in a rut of rushing through our many tasks, often creating ‘fires’ or problems we then have to rush to put out or solve. Finally, we drop into bed exhausted, regretting we didn’t have time to do the things we wanted to do. Then we get up the next day to do it all over again. Too often we are not even sure how we arrived at the space we find ourselves in. Is it any wonder we find so much disappointment in our lives?
When we open our awareness, we allow ourselves the opportunity to consciously be involved in our own process. We begin making conscious choices about what our day will look like and choose to accomplish more of the things we want to do. It is a gift to know what we are creating instead of letting the whims of life decide for us. In living consciously, we always have a choice. What a difference!
One of the most empowering things I (Kiora) have discovered is the understanding that I am responsible for creating everything in my life. The minute I take accountability for every facet of my experience, I am free. This gives me all the power and removes my fear because I know that nothing comes into my experience unless I allow it. Whenever anything undesirable comes my way, I know that I have the power to choose something different. To make that change, I remember that my thoughts create, and what I focus on expands.
When I (SueAnn) was learning how to be open, I began to realize that everything did not have to look a certain way and that being open to other perceptions gave me a new space in which to be creative and try new things. I found that there are many ways to see and do the things I did every day, and many were much easier than the way I believed it had to be done.
For instance, I always believed that doing dishes by hand was just as good or better than using a dishwasher. I had a household of 14 people, seven being my own children. I used to tell them that I didn’t need a dishwasher because I already had seven of them.
However, as time went on, I found that I didn’t get as much help as the job required in order to be done the way I wanted it done, so I finally broke down and purchased my first automatic dishwasher. With the new appliance, I didn’t have to spend all my time in the kitchen and was able to spend more time enjoying my family. I had been stuck in a habit that did not serve me, and it had made my life more difficult.
Think about what you really want in your life. Pair that with immersing yourself in the feeling of already having what you desire. The more positive emotion you attach to the thoughts or the more ‘real’ it feels, the faster you can manifest your desire.
Do you know who you are and what you want to become? We all have dreams, but often we don’t believe we can really achieve them. Perhaps others in our life have told us that we will never amount to anything and somewhere along the way we accepted that as true. Yet if we don’t believe in our ability to do things even basic survival becomes too much to handle. It is important for us to build our self-awareness so that we can begin to change the unconscious agreements that hold us back and beat us down.
This is the time to open ourselves to all possibilities, believe that anything can happen, understand that our experiences are lessons for our betterment, and prepare ourselves to let magic into our lives. The universe always has our back and will supply what is needed when it’s needed.
You can have tremendous joy by embracing new experiences. Life becomes a great adventure when you look forward to each new day with excitement and wonder. These exercises will help you reconnect with your dreams, build new ones, and prepare you to share your gifts with the world.
Remember to keep a positive mind set. Most of us can get clear about what we don’t want. This awareness is fine, just be sure to take the next step and focus on what you do want. Imagine how it feels to have all that you desire.
