I want to share with you the struggles of my soul and how externalizing the abuse helped me to overcome the insidious claws of trauma. As I find solitude in penning the realization of my fears, pain, and shame, I recognize the purpose of my existence and the strength to love me for myself. I no longer have to hide and stifled my voice. Neither do I cling to self-destructive submissiveness. As I now, with a different kind of courage, share these thoughts (they are still not poetic) with you, I hope my thoughts will ignite the freedom in you to stand against the pangs of abuse and trauma, and find your voice. About the Book
As Parris shares the crying of her soul, she hopes it will encourage individuals who have experienced sexual abuse, psychological and emotional distress to realize that despite the hardship they encountered, they still have a voice. Using spoken words as a calmative Parris helps to diminish the internalize pain that lace abuse and trauma. In My Soul Cries, Parris reveals the pain, shame, guilt, and restorative expressions that colors her life as she struggles to find self-worth amidst the neglect, abandonment, and trauma she faced in life. Parris illustrates through her words how the realization of one’s circumstances can become the force that takes you from darkness into an enlightened space. She hopes that as she shares her voice and opens her soul, it will encourage others to face the reality of their circumstances whatever it is and speak up. It is from this hope that she invites her daughters to join her in giving life to their voices.
About the Author
As a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Life Coach, Parris finds joy in helping individuals and families identify how they can change the unfavorable circumstances of their life into meaningful desires. Parris has walked an abusive path in life but has used the Promises of God and willpower to find the strength to overcome all adverse obstacles that became barriers in her life. Using spoken words Parris gives voice to the darkness that had kept her mentally imprison.
