About the Book

When a little cat named Jack, crosses the Rainbow Bridge, he is met by Colby, his dog brother. Colby shows Jack around and introduces Jack to lots of new animal friends. Jack and Colby have lots of wonderful adventures On the Other Side of the Rainbow Bridge, while they are waiting to be reunited with their people from their earthly life. There are suggested activities at the end, offering fun ways to remember our beloved pets after they cross over the Rainbow Bridge.

About the Author

Debby Engelhardt started journaling as therapy when she and her husband lost their four beloved fur-babies in less than seven months. She felt her experience opened a window to a wonderful world where our beloved companions are waiting to be reunited with their people. Her hope it that you will find the same peace reading this book, as she found writing it. This is Debby’s first book but will not be her last. Debby’s background is in bookkeeping but she found a new love in writing. Her free time is spent traveling and enjoying life with her husband Dave.

If you have ever lost a pet, you will love this book! A wonderful story about four pets as they meet over the rainbow bridge, with beautiful animal illustrations. You can easily imagine your lost pet having a joyful time with Jack and friends while waiting to be reunited with you. My 8-year-old granddaughter really enjoyed the story and pictures. A must for someone struggling with the loss of a pet.

It’s so hard to lose a pet. It’s even harder when you have small children. They don’t understand that kind of loss, oftentimes. This lovely story can help to explain where the beloved furry family member has gone. The author, Debby Englehart, must have been heartbroken when she and her husband lost two dogs and two cats in a matter of months. Out of that loss, though, came this lovely story of what happens after the fur babies cross the Rainbow Bridge. A positive and loving message, this book would be a great addition to the library of a family that has lost a pet of any kind. Debby Englehart also showcases her skill with artist tools as she created all the illustrations, as well. I highly recommend this lovely story to ease the grief of losing a pet.

The zestful story-telling and vibrant illustrations bring this book to life. Readers can picture their own cherished pets playing hide-and-seek with Colby, Jack, Monkey and Zack, or riding across the river on the backs of turtles, playing with the friendly goats, or taking a ‘sunshine nap’ with lizards. This is a wonderful story of animals who have passed on to live out playful and carefree days in the serene land that lies on the other side of the rainbow bridge; until one day they are reunited with their humans again in heaven. The activity pages in the back are an added bonus in which you can draw and write the special things that your treasured pet is doing with their new animal friends on the other side of the rainbow bridge. We highly recommend this book to anyone who has loved and lost a pet.
