JJ finds "beauty" in the sorrow as she journals her way through her beloved husband's surprise terminal illness. He, an eye surgeon, is now the patient!
Follow her as she is led to make their home residence a "nurturing shelter." "Fear" and "frustration" leave as "awareness" and "acceptance" seep in! Prayer, guidance and patience take over as she takes "action" realizing she is not in the driver's seat but she can be a "backseat driver" as how to handle this "detour" life has presented.
A heart warming journal written by an "enlightened" wife and caregiver. Her faith and years of new age study now come into play, with meditation, music, candlelight and prayer.
She writes of the experience so others may realize it does not have to be all "sad and gloom!" It can be a beautiful ending to one's life!
She shares a "mindset" formed of being "positive" in the most negative of situations, finding "joy" and "gratitude" for each day given. She learned to laugh instead of cry, now realizing one needs a sense of humor as your world changes month by month, week by week, then day by day.
Gentle Passage is the first of three books called Willow’s Bend Series. Life had thrown my beloved and I a major detour two months before his retirement. Instead of being carefree and enjoying retirement, cancer now took over our world. I say our world, but it was his journey of pain and courage. I had to become a backseat driver, and that I did! I was indeed a take-charge person. However, illness and death I was not in charge of. Follow me on my beloved’s journey of his terminal illness from feeling powerless to being prepared. Feel my frustration and fatigue change to acceptance and awareness followed by action! This all took place by using patience and prayer. Working this all together and keeping a sense of humor brought peace to our home, family and situation. It was my beloved’s journey and eventual demise, but I now realize it was a rite of passage for me, an initiation on my own personal journey of writing, an opening up to my creativity, bringing something positive out of a negative situation. Who would have thought?
