One of those tunnels is your sensitivity. In many cultures, people avoid pain; we have become numb to ornate sensitivity. It’s hard to adopt new ways of living. When hearts are blocked, with an open heart, you feel the good and the bad in healthy ways. Sensitivity is a precious tool to navigate the inner and outer worlds. You can’t have a sensitized experience with others or be open and receptive to the dynamics of others if you’re completely numbed out. Numbing out is a way of bypassing and blocking the sometimes harsh reality of what we need to focus on and heal to evolve. Be open to receiving from a non-judgmental place. You will soon become intimately connected to your deepest truth of being; this requires sensory intelligence. Sensory intelligence is a multidimensional experience of being. This means you’re highly sensitive and receptive, using your five senses and beyond to develop thicker skin in the modern world. Many intentionally deactivate or greatly reduce their senses. In the face of pain and disappointment, it’s natural and understandable to numb as a coping mechanism. However, it restricts your sensual potential. You must feel your way through life because alongside the bad, there’s an endless supply of beauty to be found and happiness to be felt. As it relates to this journey specifically, you have to feel to heal.”
