Macaroni and Cheese and His Great Migration

Today is the day- I can feel it. The sun is shining so brightly through the opening of my cocoon. This Cocoon has really been great to me these past two weeks. Keeping me safe from rain and cold. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Macaroni and Cheese, but you can call me Mac. As a young Monarch caterpillar, I would dream about “The Great Monarch Migration.” Where thousands of Monarch butterflies will travel far and wide. It has been my dream my whole life to adventure out and see the world. I try to push against the walls of my cocoon. I stretch my wing out. I can feel the fresh breeze. It can get stuffy in that cocoon, but it has been home. I finally make it out. I look up into the bright sun. I feel its warmth. I rest my body in the sun to dry my wings. The wind lifts me slightly. It is time for my adventure to start. I open my wings to take my first flight. I am so excited! I know in my heart this Migration will be so much fun and amazing! My wings push through the air and I glide up into the sky.
