About the Author

Shooting from the Heart is Melissa Gabriel’s first novel. She is the daughter of a novelist and a published poet and author of non-fiction. A former resident of Newport, Rhode Island and of New York City, she is well equipped to write about these cities in which her novel is woven. In addition to writing, she works part-time as a licensed clinical social worker and holds a Masters in Counseling and a Masters in Social Work. She has been a resident of Westmont, New Jersey for 28 years. She lives with her cat Lulu.
