About the Book
For two weeks in October 2015 I had the privilege to volunteer in the Warlukurlangu Art Centre in Yuendumu Northern Territory, Australia. During that time I donga-shared with volunteers from around the world.The experiences of being in a remote desert community, shared accommodation with people unknown, and the many dogs were new to me. Aside from that I decided to use the discipline of writing a poem each day of my stay as an exercise. The casting for subject captured the diversity of each day and the poems became a journal of daily experiences.
About the Author
Helen Namaajimba Scarr lives in Tasmania Australia with her husband and eldest son and his family. She writes stories for her ‘grands’ and is conducting doctorate research into how people live with suicide grief. Spending time with Aboriginal women is her long-time dream.
