"The true armor bearer is faithful to prayer, lifting the needs of the Pastor, the staff, the leadership, the ministry teams, and the congregation before the Lord. He is diligent to keep himself in prayer and in that spirit of humility in order to serve in integrity and righteousness. (God's righteousness and not our own, lest we boast in ourselves) "
"The armor bearer must also be willing to bear the armor and the burden of the Pastor. HE SHOULD NEVER INTEND TO MAKE THE LOAD (BURDEN) HEAVIER!! He should never desire to add more to the Pastor's plate. Rather, his desire should be to aid the Pastor and lighten the load. This true armor bearer desires to assist the Pastor in finishing the race, not in running the race for the Pastor, and certainly not in trampling over the Pastor, in the process.
While the armor bearer may be the one who is usually alongside the Pastor, he is never to lead the Pastor. He should never desire anything more, than to serve, NOT REPLACE, the Pastor.
You see, the armor bearer IS NOT the subject of interest, rather, he is "the faithful servant to" the subject of interest. We saw this in the example of Secret Service Agent, Tim McCarthy. Most people don't even know his name, and yet, he was the one accredited to saving the life of President Ronald Regan.
If the armor bearer is blessed by God with an anointed God led Pastor, he will have the privilege to grow as he serves. He will never fall by the wayside because he is discouraged, misunderstood, or just plain ignorant, UNLESS, he is unwilling to await his appointed time of promotion. In which case, he may leave prematurely, perhaps right before the Lord promotes him. (Once again, I am writing from experience) "
