ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I have always been a warrior. From as far back as I can remember, I’ve been a seeker of the truth. Many, many people along the way, great writers and teachers have led me to the next stage of my journey and I am truly grateful they showed up in my life when they did. This book has been a way for me to give something back.
I can’t say enough about my hubby, Trevor. It took me a year to put my book together and at the same time we were renovating our home. It was crazy, but he supported me through it all because he knew how important it was for me to create this book. He loves me beyond love and I have always known this: even when he didn’t understand me he believed in me. He has patiently waited for me to flower and now we get to share our garden together. I love you honey for being brave enough to come on this journey with me.
I adore my children. Im glad they chose me to be their mom. They have taught me so much with their truths and in the way they have been fearless in sharing themselves with me. I always said if my children grew up kind and happy within themselves, then I had done my job as a mother; they have done that and so much more. My father used to say that kids are only leant to us, we don’t own them, and I never forgot his words.
To all my sisters, Annette, Yvonne, Jackie, Denise, Andree, Nicky, Sharon, and Danni, wow I don’t think I could have been more loved. Truly, I am blessed to have been born into the family I was, I am truly grateful for all of you. Particularly to my sister Sharon, for without your constant support while I grew up and even when I took the limelight away from you, you still supported and loved me. I thank you all for my endless whining and questioning about life and when I was confused - you sisters were always there to listen. And I thank you for the courage you had to step into your authentic selves to show me the way.
I want to thank Ian our business partner and brother-in-law for the encouragement and understanding when we took a year off and travelled. And to his children, Amie and Jon, for I love you like my own and you too taught me so much about myself so thank you.
To my writing teacher, Julie Salisbury, for without her my book may never have been created and for her faith that I had something important to share. Thank you for always being at the end of the emails and supporting me, you are like a midwife assisting in the birth of a new child.
To my editor Lorraine Gane who worked tirelessly on my edits and who seemed to know exactly how and what I wanted to say - at times better than I did. I couldn’t have produced the clarity of this book without you. Thank you for our moments in the garden on the lake; your encouragement and belief in my story and that its an important message to share; your kindness and your truth has helped me become a better writer. To Cathie and Randy Cunningham for letting us use their lovely resort on the lake for our editorial meetings.
To my second editor Janet Love Morrison, you have smoothed my pages so they flow like a great full-bodied red wine. Thank you for putting the finishing touches to my book in such a professional and timely manner and for your commitment and encouragement to and of my story.
To my office buddies Diane and Deanna, thank you for not just your dedication to our company, but for your love for me. You were always there for me in any way I needed professionally and personally, we had an office environment that was “different” but so great and I do miss that. You are my family guys.
So many people have come across my path to teach me how to step into my authentic self. It started out with my parents; my father whom I enjoyed many deep conversations about our egos, why we are here, and other dimensions. He was the first to question whether in fact this is our only reality, much to my mother’s fears. My mother gave herself, she was brought up in a time where she was to support the husband and unfortunately her own dreams got pushed aside. So, mom I thank you for inspiring me to find mine again and for my love for God. You taught me about his unconditional love and for making me say my prayers every night as this has led me to a life of appreciation for all my teachers in life.
I thank Jesus for walking the earth and teaching us about unconditional love, not perhaps as written in the bible but more from what I have come to know as “his truth;” to Anthony DeMello for teaching me how to detach; Eckhart Tolle for helping both me and my husband understand more about the ego and for his work in the world to bring awareness of it. To Eliza Mada Dalian, medical intuitive, healer, mystic, and spiritual guide, for without whom my family would not be where we are today. I thank you for your compassion to help us heal our wounds of the past. As I see it, your work is of the highest importance to our world and our ability to achieve peace because you taught me that its starts with me, healing yourself from the inside out. Friends Nigel and Rose, Rick and Wendy, Betsy and Derek; and to Kindi my most conscious friend who doesn’t let me get away with a thing, but in a kind and compassionate way. To Brett Wearne my yoga guru and Peter Levitt my Zen master for helping me stay grounded and centered. Master Dhyan Vimal from Malaysia for the I & I Discovery and his work he is doing around the world and for his explanation and wisdom on enlightenment.
To my naturopathic doctors first Dr.C.Alsberg, N.D.; Dr. P. Yam, N.D. and all their staff; and Linda Clark, Ph.D. To the iridologist who got me to take care of myself and the psychic /medium, Brian Robertson who helped me see more clearly, you were all such a big part of my journey. To my scientific buddies Albert Einstein who was so ahead of his time and so wise and now to Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. who makes complete sense to me in every way, I love your work. To Deepak Chopra for your courage and conviction to discover what you have come to know about life and to share in such an eloquent way with all of us on stage and in your books. To Dr. J. Wilson, N.D., D.C., Ph.D who without his book on adrenals, I’m not sure I would have ever figured out what was going on with my own body. You’re right, adrenal fatigue is so under diagnosed. To Terra Dimock who is more amazing than words can describe, she nurtured me with her healing hands through shiatsu and for her talents and nutritional wisdom that she shared. To Sheena Bull who believed my back injuries could be healed through weight training even when others didn’t and to Deb Leblanc who makes you feel like you are the most important person in her world while she is with you in her training sessions. To Helen Belot and Rasma Bertz for introducing me to the world of Sekhem and the magic in forgiveness.
