About the Author
I.H. McDonald Jr. was born September 12, 1920 in Rivesville, West Virginia and died February 24, 1978 at his home in Warsaw, Missouri.
He began his distinguished military career in 1939 with the Army Air Corp. He was a WWII veteran stationed in India and the Near East. After the war he enrolled at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA and received a degree in business administration. His studies were interrupted in 1947 after being recalled to service with the US Air Force. Throughout his career he flew B-17s, B-24s, and C-54s just to name a few. He retired in 1963 at Whiteman Air Force Base in Warrensburg, MO. He received a commendation from the US Air Force for his efforts in preparing a universal guide for strategic air command. After his retirement from the service, he started a second career managing the Warsaw Lumber Company in Warsaw, Mo.
