Awaken the Psychic Within

Chapter 1: PSYCHIC AWARENESS AND DEVELOPMENT Are you perceptive? Do you get “gut feelings” about people, places, or things? Do you act upon your “gut feeling”, your intuition? When you ignore your “gut feelings”, are there times when you wish you had listened to them? Have there been times when you have taken notice of your “gut feelings” and acted appropriately, later grateful for listening to that inner knowing? Do you sense or get strong feelings about the presence of something unseen? Or is it different for you - do you hear, do you see, The Others? Do you exchange conversations with The Others? Or maybe you see symbols, signs, or pictures: in rocks, water, clouds, or maybe reflections? Do you understand what these symbols, signs, or pictures are trying to tell you? Do you know where they come from? Do you know why you can see them easily and others struggle to see what you see? Are you more observant than most other people you know? Do you sometimes see something move out the corner of your eye and when you turn around to take a better look, there is nothing there? Do you sometimes hear someone call out your name and when you look up, you find yourself alone in the room? Do you see colours around people? Do you have vivid dreams, either frequently or infrequently? Do you find that these dreams you have while you sleep become a reality sometime in the future? Do you just know that the phone is about to ring, or that someone you know is unwell before they themselves may even know? Or maybe it is something else for you. What is it? If you could relate to any of these questions, if they triggered a memory in your brain to come forth, then you, my friend, have a soul, and as a Being with a soul, you have psychic abilities. The real question is – are you ready? Do you want to awaken the psychic within you? It is my belief that everything on this planet contains an energy field – plants, animals, people, Earth, water, air, fire, spirit - everything. I believe even our thoughts create energy. I also believe there is energy outside of ourselves, an enormous source of energy that surrounds us, encompassing all that we ever have been, all that we are, and all that we can be. It is powerful and awe-inspiring. The exciting thing is that you and I can tap into this energy source at will; any time. It is an energy that can leave you breathless: breathless in a good way. This massive energy source comes in the form of vibrations that can vary in size, pitch and depth. Everyone has the ability to access this powerful source of energy. Not everyone, however, is open-minded enough to do so. Of those of us who are open to such a concept, we all vary in our level of connectivity and our knowledge on how to tap into and exchange information with The Others contained within this energy source. This book is not for everyone and I believe if you are still reading, that it has come to you because there is something embedded within these pages that you are ready to receive. Have you heard the Yogic (a school of Hindu philosophy) saying “when the student is ready, the teacher appears”? It is because either consciously or sub-consciously, you desired to learn - you sent out an energy vibration by desiring to learn one or more of the topics covered. It is my wish for you that you find information within these pages which will assist you along your path of metaphysical development: to awaken the psychic within. You may not have worded your request in the exact same words, but the underlying concepts, the gems that will help propel you to the next level, may be found within this book. These gems may just give you some “Ah-ha” moments and help you along your journey to discover and develop your inner psychic and metaphysical self. This resource is not intended to be just a good read then put aside forever and a day. The intention is to motivate and assist you to develop your mind, to open it further to tap into your unique psychic and metaphysical abilities. It is intended to inspire you to think and take action. I suggest you consider reading actively. In other words, find a note-book and write down the things that pop out at you from the pages. Every time you go through this resource – and I encourage you to go through it more than once in your lifetime - you will be amazed at the different things that pop out at you, so make sure you take notes and keep a journal of your experiences. The other thing I suggest you consider is not to take my word for everything I say – challenge what I say and see if it makes sense to you or not. Research the ideas that sound a bit “out there” to you and see what others have to say before you make up your mind. You know, it has been my experience to hear the same thing said by different people in different ways and then one day I hear it and wham! I have an “Ah-ha” moment and I swear I have NEVER heard this concept before and suddenly I can see, hear, taste, touch, and feel with such clarity, it is like a big light bulb has gone off on its own little energy journey inside my head and everything makes sense, and I wonder why nobody else has ever told me this concept before – can you relate? Let me begin by drawing your attention back to the questions I asked in the opening paragraph. I asked these questions because they represent some examples of different ways to receive psychic information. I jumbled the questions around because psychic abilities come in the form of clairaudience (inner hearing), clairsentience (inner feelings), and clairvoyance (inner seeing). You may find that you receive information mostly through one of these three channels. It is also entirely possible that you may have received information through more than one of these channels. Those of us who are clairaudient receive information by hearing it. It may come to you in your own voice, or it may come to you through someone else’s voice, or it might be both. In other words, information comes to you either objectively or subjectively, or both objectively and subjectively. Listen to how you express yourself: “I heard …”, “I hear …”, “I thought I heard …”. Let me ask you this: Do you sometimes hear someone call out your name and when you turn around, you find there is no-one there? Do you receive directive thoughts in either your voice or someone else’s, such as “Call your mother”, or “Go over to the swimming pool”, or “Take the road past the shopping centre instead of your normal route”, or “Call your best friend Gretel”, or “Something is wrong with Hansel”? For me, the voices are not booming in baritone surround-sound – they are often softly spoken, the same tone and volume as if I was speaking to myself. Occasionally it might sound as though someone is beside or behind me talking to me, but always quietly as if intended for my ears only. How is it for you? Do you find the inner voices inspire you, and when you do follow them you find a distinctive reason as to why you needed to call your mother, go over to the swimming pool, or make the diversion from your normal route, call your best friend, or that something was indeed wrong with Hansel? If you know what I am talking about and you have experiences such as these, then you are clairaudient. Clairaudient people generally favour learning by listening, they usually like to have background noise such as music or the television blaring while they work. Does this sound familiar to you?
